FAB CHICK 2010 – Vitra Singh, Itsy Bitsy Bra Bar LLC
29 January 2010

The inspiration for Itsy Bitsy Bra Bar LLC., came to Vitra Singh and her fellow MBA friends, all petite and modern women, as they discussed how shopping for underwear was more challenging and frustrating than it should be. The idea behind a “Bra Bar” was that women will have a place they can go and have a large selection of undergarments available to them, based on their personal style. There are very few places online that cater solely to women with petite bust sizes.

ItsyBitsyBraBar.com, offers AA-cups through C-cups and smaller. Band sizes start at 28. In addition to bras and panties, the site also includes lingerie, jewelry accessories, robes, camisoles, chemises, body lotion, massage oils and much more. There is a category called “I’m a Guy and I need Help!” because men face more hurdles than necessary in shopping for lingerie for their small girlfriends or wives. Men can simply click on this option and it will suggest gifts perfect for the petite woman in their life.

Feature in February 2010 Issue of InStyle

Brands include well-known names such as OnGossamer, Eberjey, The Little Bra Company, Huit, and Fleur’t. Prices are not only affordable, but bargains are abundant as most items are currently marked down to give holiday shoppers something to cheer about.
Vitra Singh was born in Trinidad, and raised in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Though her undergraduate degree is in Journalism from New York University, she also earned her MBA degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale. Vitra’s goal is to create an oasis for small women who need small underwear in lovely colors, styles, and patterns.

Although the economy has been in a recession the past year with signs that it might get worse before it gets better, Vitra feels that regardless of the economy, petite women still need underwear

The Joys (and Woes?) of Valentine's Day

I had just posted a message on my gmail status about the InStyle 20% off promo code, and that those shopping for Valentine's Day should actually buy whatever they need to buy now so that they are better prepared and actually put some thought into gift giving.

My BFF saw the message, and said that I made her depressed.. and then I was like "Hell, it makes me depressed too!" (not seriously depressed...i'm not on any meds or need to be admitted to any mental asylums, for the record.)

While we all say that "valentine's day should be everyday", the fact is, it's not...it's just on February 14th, when guys know there's no excuse (such a sports, poker night, work, etc) for NOT doing something special with their significant other.

Therefore, it makes a majority of the single ladies out there who end up staying at home and watching tv with their dogs, a little bitter. Perhaps, not even "bitter" but "reflective"...

Like, why is it that I find myself not involved in a relationship. If the case is that you really have conscientiously (sp?) decided not be get into a committed relationship, then more power to you!

However, if it's because you can never just seem to "Mesh" well with a guy, then you end up questioning yourself, like: what I am doing? where are the great eligible guys? how come *she* has a boyfriend/date and I don't?

So, my point here is that, perhaps we shouldn't be so angry/depressed/bitter about the whole Valentine's Day concept. Rather, maybe figure out how we picture the day for us to be ideally, and then work towards that goal. If not for this year (until you can work real quick in the next 2 weeks), but for next year.

And what does that have to do with Itsy Bitsy underwear? well, isn't it obvious? You should buy them! lol (or the lotions/oils/fluffy robes, etc etc.)

2010 Resolutions

Like everyone else, every year, I make a list of "resolutions" and then after about 4 days, I completely forget and it ends up being useless. So, this year, I'm thinking long term goals and things I've wanted to do for a while so that I CAN'T just forget them over the course of a week.

Here are some of mine:

1) Get to know my customers better and allow them to get to know me better through personalized correspondence and getting their truthful opinions.

2) Read more biographies and autobiographies. I tend to read everything, but after watching Invictus, I realize that I want to know more about Nelson Mandela. Reading about important historial figures (both dead or alive) from their own perspective is a way to sort of live their experiences through their own lives.

3) I'm a nice person--sometimes too nice. So I also "resolve" to be more even-keeled. Be fair but firm.

What are your resolutions?
